The cooking at the Grange is applauded locally for its quality and quantity. Lorna, with help from Keith her husband, prepares breakfast and dinner on the AGA. Fresh local produce is used, especially delicious quality beef and lamb from their son's farm near Cockermouth. For those guests with an appetite a full English breakfast is offered which includes local Cumberland sausage and free-range eggs. Dinner consists of a main roast or fish dish every day (see the menu example) and an extensive range of starters and desserts. Homemade bread rolls, marmalade, scones, cakes and especially that local delicacy, Cumberland rum butter, are all made in the Grange kitchen.
